Landmark4 Web Directory

About & Editorial Policy

Landmark4 is a web directory run in the tradition of a printer's trade almanac — every submission is checked, set in the register, and filed under the appropriate section heading. The index covers 22 trade categories and currently carries 831 listings, each placed in the section that best matches the site's primary activity.

The directory operates on a straightforward principle: any site may apply for a listing; accepted entries go into the register in the order they arrive and stay there unless the proprietor requests removal. There is no ranking by popularity, traffic, or subscription tier. A small veterinary surgery and a large gaming platform stand in the same column width.

Landmark4 is maintained by hand — submissions are reviewed individually before being set in the index. The process is slower than automated listing services but it keeps the register clean and avoids the accumulation of duplicate or broken entries that tends to degrade larger automated directories over time.

The index is organised around the 22 section headings, which cover the main trades and services found in the submitted web. The section headings were chosen to reflect the actual composition of submissions rather than an ideal taxonomy, which is why the gaming and wagering section is the largest and the property section is the smallest.

Visitors are welcome to browse any section, submit a site for listing, or use the front-page search to find entries by keyword. The full index is also available as an XML sitemap for those who prefer to work with structured data.
